Geo Tag Help
This form generates Geo Tags
in 3 parts:
- Lat/Long position (numeric)
- Region/Country (ISO3166 codes)
- Placename (free text)
It is not necessary to use this form; once the tags are understood
they can be entered quickly by hand. The form generates correct syntax
and helps verify Latitude and Longitude.
To use all 3 parts:
- First - In the upper left frame,
select a country then click "Select Country". Wait
for the update.
- Second - In the lower left frame,
select a region then click "Select Region".
If country is United States, a zipcode lookup is available.
Enter a 5-digit zipcode then click "Use US Zip code". A point inside
the zipcode region will be selected.
- Third - Optionally, in the middle
right frame, click a location, or,
in the upper left frame, enter a latitude/longitude pair.
In the upper left frame, enter a placename.
- Fourth - In the upper left frame,
click "Convert".
- Last - The generated tags will appear
in the top right frame (this one). Using an editor, paste them into
the HEAD of your HTML document as they appear on the screen.
The clickmap (middle right) will have a red dot showing the approximate
position.
Note: The Lat/Long positions generated from the click map
are extremely imprecise and should only be used as a guide. You should
find correct positions from a large-scale map, legal document or
GPS set. Failure to do so will result in your page being indexed
hundreds of kilometers away from its proper location.
