endian issues in geographic position

The current geotags draft
draft-daviel-html-geo-tag-00 specifies position
as (long,lat,elevation) ie. mapped to (x,y,z) on
regular maps, as is I belive common practice in GIS
and cartographic work.

vCard and iCal (RFC2445, RFC2426) are using a "lat;long" format
(as does the ?little-used? ISO6709) for similar information.

I wonder, therefore, whether geo.position should be revised to
bring it into line with these other net-based standards, or
continue to use the GIS long,lat ordering.
